Bubble hash machine6/21/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() More ice just means more hard stuff in there to crush and tear the leaves releasing more chlorophyll into the water and creating lots of little plant matter particles that will end up in your bags with the trichomes. That's why the bag is 73 microns not 70 apparently. For 5 star bubble hash that's what your after, the heads, not the stalks. Once the trichs are frozen the heads will snap off much more easily. It would also suggest that rubbing a bag of frozen trim together wouldn't produce a shower of trichome heads. By that math the only way dry ice hash would work would be rubbing each leaf surface across the chunk of dry ice. ![]() I've read a lot of that as well it just doesn't add up to me. Some strains can apparently take 5+ washes but I haven't seen that yet. My first wash is only 3 minutes, then 6 then 12 I ran a fourth and didn't get much but I'll try with the next strains and see what they like. That's why I don't use a work bag, gives more movement throughout the water column. The ice is just to keep it cold enough the movement through the water and against each other will rub the Frozen trichome heads off. Your not scraping the trichomes off with the ice, if you could keep the process cold enough without ice that would be ideal. They shake the shit out of it trying to get more yield and it ruins the quality. Too much ice is bad too, it will crush the plant material giving your hash that nasty ass green tint so common with dry ice hash. It's got to be as cold as you can keep it. If the trichomes are not brittle enough they won't snap off the plant, they'll bend and mush. ![]()
